Estival - Sainte Valiere

Estival is an attractive, newly-renovated traditional house in the peaceful village of Ste.Valiere in the midst of the famous Minervois wine region. It has a spacious garden, large swimming pool and sun terrace, and sleeps six. The cottage is also in the grounds and sleeps four and the separate studio sleeps two. The village is conveniently placed for visiting the tranquil Canal du Midi, now a World Heritage Site, the fabulous walled city of Carcassonne, nearby Narbonne and the Mediterranean beaches. Travelling shops arrive in the village daily selling bread, meat, fish and vegetables. There is a very good restaurant a few minutes' walk away and the village has thoughtfully provided tennis courts to help sharpen your appetite before indulging. There is also an excellent Intermarché supermarket just ten minutes' drive away.

The House - Sleeps 6

On the ground floor is a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The modern kitchen has ample worktop space and is equipped with gas cooker, refrigerator and washing machine. The dining area has a good size table and seating for six and leads to the living area with comfortable sofa facing a TV. Stairs lead to the first floor landing and bathroom with shower, washbasin and wc, and main bedroom with 2 single beds that can be joined to make a double. Stairs go up again to the second floor where there are two bedrooms each with two single beds. The decor throughout the house is bright and attractive with pastel shades sympathetic to the region.

French windows open out from the living area onto a lovely tiled patio with table and chairs and parasol. The adjoining garden, delightfully landscaped in Mediterranean style, leads to the large swimming pool which is shared with the owners who live in the adjoining house. Ample sun loungers are provided.

The cottage - Sleeps 4

The Estival Cottage, like the larger house has been newly renovated, preserving its original character with stone walls and wooden beams. At the entrance is a tiled patio furnished with table, chairs and parasol. Large glazed doors open into the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The modern kitchen is equipped with gas cooker, refrigerator and washing machine. The dining table seats six and is next to a comfortable living area with sofa, armchair and TV. The bathroom has a shower, washbasin and wc and is upstairs between the bedrooms. There are two bedrooms each with two single beds which have a cosy feel with their wooden floors and beams.

The Studio 

The Estival studio is completely self-contained, spacious, light and airy, with it's own sun terrace with garden table, chairs and parasol. The pastel colours and bright yellow tiling give a soft, summer look to the kitchen area which has sink unit, gas cooker with matching hood, fridge, electric kettle and washing machine. The bathroom has wc, basin and shower. The living area has a neat dining table with four chairs and the comfortable sofa converts into a double bed. A wardrobe and colour television are provided and the central heating ensures comfort during cool autumn or winter evenings.
